The Fine Arts program is designed to cultivate artists through variety of courses intended to engage the student, promote lifelong learning and prepare the student to meet future challenges. The program is a blend of hands-on learning and critical thinking skills. Students have the opportunity to make, discuss, observe and analyze art. We offer courses for students who desire a career in the visual arts and architecture as well as for students who enjoy making art as a leisure time activity. Those students who wish to pursue a career in the visual arts or architecture have two choices which include 2-Dimensional or 3-Dimensional pathways. Students could begin with Foundations of 2-Dimensional Art or Fundamentals of Drawing and then follow with 2-D II or Drawing II in the sophomore and junior years. Foundations of 3-Dimensional Art is offered for those who wish to take Ceramics I and 3-Dimensional Art II in their sophomore through senior years. 2-Dimensional Art III and Ceramics II, Portfolio Prep and Advanced Placement in both 2-D and 3-D art can be selected senior year. |
